Speaking on the sidelines of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) Annual Conference in Mombasa held under the theme "Business Unusual: Legal Practice in the Era of AI" Advocate Swanya Victor Ogeto called for visionary leadership, institutional consensus, and transformative local governance.

Addressing broader political dynamics and presidential leadership, Advocate Swanya emphasized the critical need for political party leaders to unite behind a single candidate through consensus, mediation, and structured negotiation. Highlighting the experience and national stature of veteran leaders, he noted that diplomatic issue resolution remain central to achieving political stability and effective governance in Kenya.

Shifting focus to local development and his gubernatorial ambitions for Nyamira County under the Wiper Patriotic Movement, Swanya outlined a strategic blueprint aimed at overcoming persistent developmental hurdles. He pointed to resource misallocation and corruption as major bottlenecks hindering grassroots empowerment, promising to champion transparent governance and robust capital investment in key infrastructure, including roads, sanitation, and urban revival.

"Nyamira County is exceptionally rich in natural resources and rainfall. With competent leadership and modern agricultural strategies such as water harvesting and dam construction Nyamira can feed the entire nation with fresh produce," Swanya noted.

Furthermore, he stressed the importance of leveraging national and international networks to attract investment, improve devolved sectors like healthcare and education, and foster economic growth.

Swanya concluded by calling on stakeholders to support his upcoming manifesto, reaffirming that combining technological innovation in legal practice with accountable, visionary leadership is essential to navigating Kenya’s modern governance and economic challenges.
