NAIROBI, KENYA - Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF) Party Leader H.E. Dr. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has unveiled a major restructuring of the party’s leadership while taking a firm stance on the state of the nation and the country's readiness for the 2027 General Election.

Speaking during a media briefing in Nairobi, Dr. Musyoka announced four strategic appointments pursuant to the mandate granted to him by the WPF National Delegates Congress in October 2025.

In the new line-up, former Cabinet Minister and two-term Kigumo MP Hon. Jamleck Irungu Kamau steps in as WPF Chairman, while seasoned diplomat and veteran administrator Ambassador Siyat Osman Ibrahim takes up the role of Deputy Chairperson. Nyali MP Hon. Mohamed Ali, CBS, HSC, has been appointed Deputy Party Leader Designate under Article 101 of the Constitution of Kenya. Constitutional advocate Ndegwa Njiru will serve as the party's official Spokesperson, heading a newly created office.

Highlighting Mohamed Ali’s inclusion, Musyoka emphasized the strategic weight of the appointment, noting that the former investigative journalist brings a reputation that "this regime cannot buy and will not intimidate."

Beyond internal party realignments, the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition leader addressed broader political and electoral concerns. Musyoka directly challenged Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairperson Erastus Edung Ethekon over claims regarding election readiness, citing Section 55B of the Elections Act and urging the commission to strictly enforce electoral laws or step aside.

"Kenya does not need an electoral commission that flinches. It needs one that counts," Musyoka asserted.

The former Vice President also condemned the resurgence of state-sponsored handouts during recent by-elections, describing the practice of queuing citizens by age and gender for money as demeaning.

Reiterating his commitment to building a formidable political opposition, Musyoka confirmed ongoing consultations with coalition partners to assemble a disciplined "United Alternative Government-in-Waiting" ahead of the August 10, 2027, polls.
