Nairobi, 15th November 2024 – The Jubilee Party has reaffirmed its commitment to democracy, national progress, and unity, even as it navigates legal challenges and political disputes. In a press briefing held today, senior party officials addressed the nation, providing an update on the state of the party and the broader national outlook.
Speaking on behalf of the party, Hon. Sabina Chege, the Jubilee Parliamentary Party Whip, expressed gratitude to the media for their continued efforts to inform and engage the public. She emphasized the party’s dedication to transparency and accountability as essential pillars of democracy.
“As a party, we are firmly committed to our principles of justice, unity, and service to the people. We are grateful to the media for ensuring that the Kenyan public is well-informed, as your role is vital in maintaining our nation’s democratic fabric,” Hon. Chege said.
The press conference comes at a time when the Jubilee Party is embroiled in legal battles. Several key matters are still pending before the Court of Appeal, but the party has vowed to respect the judicial process. Recently, a conservatory order was issued on 14th November 2024, halting a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting convened by Hon. Jeremiah Kioni, which was deemed illegal. The meeting had been called without proper consultation with the majority of NEC members, and the party leadership has made it clear that such actions undermine the party’s constitution and governance structures.
“The actions of Hon. Kioni, including his unauthorized calls for meetings and his attempts to misrepresent the party in Azimio, are unacceptable. We reaffirm that Jubilee is a democratic institution, and it is the National Executive Committee that determines its direction—not any individual,” Hon. Chege stated.
The party’s leadership made it clear that it would continue to push for a unified and transparent approach to leadership, where decisions are made collectively and in the best interest of all members.
Turning to the state of the nation, the Jubilee Party took the opportunity to reflect on the government’s progress, particularly in areas where the party had a significant impact during its tenure. One of the key initiatives championed by Jubilee, the Big 4 Agenda, continues
