The County Diary News,
Nairobi,12th October 2025- spirit of unity and defiance filled Mwea, Kirinyaga County, today as Wiper Party Leader H.E. Kalonzo Musyoka led the united opposition rally alongside H.E. Rigathi Gachagua, Hon. Eugene Wamalwa, Hon. JB Muturi, Hon. Martha Karua, and other senior leaders.
Thousands of supporters turned out in large numbers to witness the rare show of solidarity among opposition leaders who vowed to safeguard the nation’s peace and defend Kenyan farmers from what they termed as economic sabotage by the current regime.
In his passionate address, Kalonzo Musyoka said the opposition had resolved that never again will Kenyans shed blood because of politics. He stated that the unity witnessed between the GEMA community and other regions marks a new dawn of reconciliation and patriotism.
Kalonzo accused President William Ruto’s administration of destroying the economy and using cartels to import cheap rice that threatens the livelihoods of Mwea rice farmers. He urged Kenyans to resist economic oppression and protect local industries through the ballot come 2027.
Reminding the crowd of his past partnership with the late President Mwai Kibaki during national crisis, Kalonzo said, “We united after Kenya burned once; today we unite again so that Kenya never burns again.”
Other leaders, including Rigathi Gachagua and Eugene Wamalwa, echoed the call for justice, fair governance, and unity of purpose among all Kenyans regardless of political affiliation.
The Mwea rally marked yet another strong message from the opposition — that they remain united, focused, and ready to rescue the nation from economic decline and political intimidation.
