In his New Year 2025 address, delivered from the SKM Command Centre in Nairobi on December 30, 2024, the leader of the People’s Loyal Opposition reflected on the trials of the past year, offering condolences for global tragedies and sharply criticizing the administration of President William Samoei Ruto.

He described 2024 as a year of turmoil marked by the June 25th protests, where Kenyan youth united to resist the invasive Finance Bill 2024, only to face brutal crackdowns, including violence, tear gas, live bullets, and abductions.

The Opposition leader accused the regime of perpetuating crimes against humanity and demanded the release of all abducted individuals while calling on international partners to condemn the violations.

Criticizing the delay in forming a legitimate electoral body, he urged Pres. Ruto to withdraw court cases blocking progress and vowed to resist autocracy while restoring constitutional democracy in 2025. Concluding with a commitment to change, he proposed new leadership appointments to guide the opposition coalition into a more inclusive future.
