On December 15, 2024, Dr. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, the former vice president, made strong statements while attending a church service at AIPCA Gathage Church in Gatundu South, Kiambu County. Accompanied by prominent figures including former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu, Ndegwa Njiru, Kiambu County Assembly Minority Leader, and Ng'enda Ward MCA Joe Kigara, Dr. Musyoka addressed a congregation of believers.
During his remarks, Dr. Musyoka criticized the current administration, urging the Church to lead the charge in speaking out against the ongoing issues under the Kenya Kwanza (KK) government, such as youth abductions, killings, the rising cost of living, and the failed SHA/SHIF initiative.
Dr. Musyoka also took the opportunity to clear the air regarding rumors of a political alliance between former President Uhuru Kenyatta and President William Ruto. He emphatically denied any such connection, claiming that no such alliance existed, despite claims circulating in the media.
Following the church service, Dr. Musyoka visited the bustling Gatundu Market, where he addressed the public. Speaking to the crowd, he stated that he did not engage in secret meetings with President Ruto, notably denying claims of meetings at midnight. He reaffirmed his primary goal: to work towards removing Ruto from power.
