Transition Ceremony for Deputy Inspector General of Administration Police Service Held at Jogoo House

Nairobi, Kenya – Today marked an important leadership transition within the Administration Police Service as Mr. Gilbert Masengeli, MBS, OGW, SS, officially took over the role of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) from Mr. James Kamau, EBS, OGW. The ceremony, held at the Administration Police Headquarters in Jogoo House Block A, was presided over by Mr. Kamau, the outgoing Acting DIG.

The event, attended by senior officials and stakeholders from the National Police Service (NPS), celebrated Mr. Kamau's contributions and service. During his tenure as Acting DIG, Kamau demonstrated exemplary leadership and dedication to enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the Administration Police Service.

In his speech, Mr. Kamau expressed gratitude for the support he received during his time in office and extended his best wishes to Mr. Masengeli. "It has been an honor to serve in this capacity. I am confident that Mr. Masengeli will continue to uphold the values and mission of the Administration Police Service with integrity and dedication," he said.

Mr. Masengeli, who brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to public service, was warmly welcomed by the attendees. In his acceptance speech, he outlined his vision for the future of the Administration Police Service. "I am deeply honored to take on this role and am committed to building on the solid foundation laid by Mr. Kamau. Together with the dedicated officers and staff of the Administration Police Service, we will strive to enhance public safety and foster stronger community relationships," stated Masengeli.

The ceremony underscored the importance of seamless leadership transitions within the NPS to ensure continuity and stability. As the new DIG, Mr. Masengeli is expected to lead with transparency, accountability, and a focus on modernizing the Administration Police Service to meet evolving security challenges.

The National Police Service reaffirmed its support for Mr. Masengeli and emphasized the significance of collaboration and dedication in achieving its goals. The transition is viewed as a positive step toward strengthening the Administration Police Service and improving service delivery to the public.
