Kenya to Host Inaugural World Chambers Federation Africa Summit in June 2025

Nairobi, Kenya – In a historic milestone for Kenya and the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI), Dr. Erick Rutto, President of KNCCI, proudly announced that Nairobi has been chosen to host the first-ever World Chambers Federation (WCF) Africa Summit in June 2025. The official announcement was made on July 26, 2024, by Mr. M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, Chair of the WCF.
The selection of Nairobi followed a highly competitive bidding process, highlighting Kenya's emerging role as a key player in the global business arena. Dr. Rutto emphasized that this achievement reflects the robust efforts of KNCCI and the unwavering support from its partners.
“The WCF Africa Summit is not merely a conference; it represents a pivotal opportunity to shape the future of commerce and industry on our continent,” said Dr. Rutto. He noted that this prestigious event will bring together over 4,500 participants, including business leaders, entrepreneurs, and innovators from more than 70 countries. The summit aims to foster dialogue, collaboration, and economic growth, signaling Kenya’s confidence as a regional hub and the strength of its private sector.
The summit is set to underscore Kenya’s critical role in the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and reaffirm its position as a prime investment destination. Dr. Rutto highlighted the potential economic benefits, including attracting investors, creating trade opportunities, and boosting the tourism and hospitality sectors.
KNCCI plans to collaborate extensively with various stakeholders to ensure the summit's success. This includes partnering with the government, private sector, regional blocs, and the international community to address pressing business issues and explore new growth opportunities. Dr. Rutto credited KNCCI’s global network and dedicated trade missions for playing a crucial role in securing this honor.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Rutto expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the World Chambers Federation for entrusting Kenya with this prestigious event and extended gratitude to the KNCCI Board, NGC, Secretariat, and partners for their relentless efforts and support.
