OPINION: Special Message To Kivou Youth Against Voter Apathy

BY DR.  MBAYA - KIVOU WARD MCA 2022

Voter apathy and political scepticism among youth a worrying trend in the country. The ongoing voter registration by IEBC has witnessed low registration despite all efforts. The big question begs for an answer, _"why should I vote?"_.

Elected leaders are unable to resolve the never-ending problems and every electioneering period the same message from politicians keep on emerging- economic growth, youth unemployment, affirmative action, corruption, empowerment, water, poverty, improve living standards etc.

'Most of young people are acutely apathetic despite the awareness of the efforts made by various stakeholders'. The notion that nothing will ever change even after electing a new government should end.

I want urge everyone that shunning elections would aggravate the situation and more bad leaders would take positions hence the disruptive cycle leading to angry, dissatisfied Kenyans will ever continue. 'Change lies in that innocuous single piece of paper that we cast during polls.'

We are heavily indebted by an obligation to be part of change. If at all we want a better Kenya, then we MUST  be part of electoral process and voting itself.

'Please arm yourself with a voters card and vote.' I appeal to Kivou Ward people to be part of the change that would benefit everyone.

_Get out the Vote_. Nominate *Dr. Stephen Mbaya Kimwele* in April 2022 as KIVOU WARD MCA on WIPER ticket. Then on 9.8.2022, come and vote to confirm him to County assembly.

*#Leadership from the people for the people.*

*#Change We Want*

*#Keep the Hope*

  1. Let's all register as voters before the operation ends... knowing in mind that your vote gives the power to elect a leader of you choice
