Kenya Prisons Mom and Daughter (The Muthukas) Bags Total 8 Medals - 7 Gold and Silver At The 13th Open Africa Masters Championships Nov 2021

Veteran Kenya Prisons Athlete Ruth Mwende yesterday bagged 3 Gold and 1 silver medals at the 13th Open Africa Masters Championships, The COUNTY DIARY reports.

Her mother Ruth Mwende Muthuka, a retired Prisons Sergeant clocked record time winning 3 Gold Medals in 200m, 100m and 4*100m and a silver medal in 60m track events in the 65-69 years category. 

Her daughter, Kenyan Prisons senior officer and master athlete SP Elizabeth Muthuka won 4 gold medals in 200m, 400m, 4*100m and 4*400m track events in the 45-49 years category, media reports said.

Sports CS Amina Mohamed graced the closing of the continental competition at Nyayo Stadium.
