KHWISERO,
KENYA -The political landscape in Western Kenya shifted dramatically today as
the newly formed United Alternative Government took its high-stakes campaign
trail to Kakamega County. Led by a formidable coalition of top national
opposition leaders, the alliance held a series of heavily attended rallies
across the region, making a critical stop at Kisa East Ward in Khwisero
Constituency to pitch their vision for a renewed Kenya.
The
multi-party opposition alliance, which brings together seasoned heavyweights,
demonstrated a powerful show of unity. Addressing a charged crowd, Azimio la
Umoja Coalition and Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF) Party Leader H.E. Kalonzo
Musyoka spearheaded the calls for economic liberation. Musyoka criticized the
current regime's taxing economic policies, promising that the United
Alternative Government represents the long-awaited redemption for ordinary
citizens.
Flanking
him was Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) Party Leader H.E. Rigathi
Gachagua, whose presence electrified the Western Kenya base. Gachagua
emphasized the necessity of regional inclusivity and economic empowerment,
urging the locals to reject divisive political projects. The alliance's robust
lineup also featured Democratic Party of Kenya (DP) Party Leader Hon. JB Muturi
and Democratic Action Party Kenya (DAP-K) boss Hon. Eugene Wamalwa. Wamalwa
fiercely rallied the Mulembe nation, urging residents to remain steadfast
behind a coalition that genuinely prioritizes their regional development and
agricultural revival.
The
political heat intensified further with fiery local backing. Trans Nzoia
Governor George Natembeya and the outspoken Mumias East Member of Parliament
Hon. Peter Salasya added local flavor to the event. Governor Natembeya
challenged conventional leadership patterns, advocating for a fresh,
community-led governance style, while Hon. Salasya connected directly with the
youth, speaking passionately about unemployment and economic hardships.
As the
political heavyweights concluded their tour of Kisa East Ward, the message
remained clear: the United Alternative Government is actively consolidating its
grassroots network in Western Kenya, laying down a formidable challenge to the
status quo ahead of future political contests.
