Murder Most Foul: Hon. Dr. Agnes Mawia Condemns Kyuso Woman Murder
PRESS STATEMENT
(For Immediate Release)
Hon. Dr. Agnes Mawia, Kitui County Women Representative Aspirant, has strongly condemned the brutal killing of a woman identified as Mutethya in Kyuso Ward.
Reports alleging that a Deputy OCS from Kyuso Police Station, said to have been in a relationship with the deceased,is a suspect are extremely grave and deeply troubling. Hon. Dr. Agnes Mawia states that this matter must not be buried, sanitised, or shielded by uniform, rank, or power. The life of a woman cannot be treated as collateral damage.
As envisioned under Article 177 of the Constitution of Kenya, the office of the Woman Representative exists to defend the dignity, safety, and lives of women. Hon. Dr. Agnes Mawia therefore takes a firm stand against Gender-Based Violence, femicide, and the abuse of authority by those sworn to protect citizens.
She demands immediate, independent, and uncompromised investigations, and insists that whoever committed this crime regardless of position must be arrested, charged, and prosecuted without delay.
Women’s lives matter.
No one is above the Constitution.
JUSTICE FOR MUTETHYA.

HON. DR. AGNES MAWIA
