Nairobi, April 1, 2025 – The People’s Loyal Coalition has issued a scathing statement from Nairobi Serena Hotel, condemning the Ruto regime for allegedly manipulating the recruitment of IEBC commissioners to secure a partisan electoral body and rig future elections. The coalition criticized the shortlisting of candidates with strong ties to UDA and ODM, including Ms. Joy Midivo and President Ruto’s personal lawyer, raising concerns over the involvement of the National Intelligence Service (NIS) in the process. Calling for transparency and adherence to constitutional guidelines, the coalition demanded an impartial and credible selection process.

Additionally, they denounced what they termed as illegal early campaigns by UDA and ODM, accusing the ruling coalition of using state resources to stage paid rallies and orchestrate violence through state-backed gangs. As the government shifts its political focus to Mount Kenya, the coalition urged residents to remain peaceful and resist provocation.

On land issues, the coalition strongly opposed Nairobi City County’s declaration of the Nairobi River Corridor as a Special Planning Area (SPA), warning that the move could jeopardize private property rights and disrupt Nairobi’s demographic balance. Vowing to challenge these injustices through legal action and mass protests, the People’s Loyal Coalition reaffirmed its commitment to defending electoral integrity, democracy, and the rights of all Kenyans.
