Thousands of Lawyers enter streets to protest against attack on Judiciary.
Today Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka joined thousands of Law makers led by, LSK President Eric Theuri, Lawyer Edinnah Arati who is contesting for the position of General Member LSK that will be held on the 22nd of February , was not left behind as she advocates for independence in Judiciary sector .
Early this month President William Ruto accused the judiciary of teaming up with cartels to stall his legacy projects. Lawyers carrying banners along City Hall Way, Nairobi against President William Ruto's utternances against the Judiciary. In a notable shift from their traditional courtroom settings, members of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) on Friday staged a demonstration in the streets protesting against President William Ruto's sentiments on the Judiciary.
Fueled by concerns over potential threats to the independence of the judiciary and the rule of law, the lawyers don their legal attire and gathered in a peaceful protest.
"I want to announce here that a few people with vested interests who are beneficiaries of corruption in NHIF are now ganging up with corrupt judicial officers to stall reforms so that fake hospital claims will continue," he said during burial in Nyandarua.
The utterances made on January 2, have elicited reactions from several associations allied with law practitioners.
As a result, invited members of the public to join members of the legal community in calling out President Ruto for his utterances, which they insist amount to an attack on the independence of the third arm of government.
The peaceful protest and March started from the Supreme Court Grounds along City Hall Way in Nairobi's Central Business Districting, proceeding along Parliament Road to the Office of the President.
Holding banners condemning the President's statements and supporting their freedom, they advocate for the importance of an impartial judiciary in upholding democratic principles.
