Mwingi Residents Set To Demonstrate Against Illegal Sand Harvesting Next Week

A demonstration against illegal sand harvesting along major rivers in Mwingi is set to kick off on Wednesday, organizers have told The COUNTY DIARY.

Speaking on Friday after posting the their grievances via WhatsApp, organizers added that the demos are their way of letting the sand cartels know that "enough is enough".

"We are literally taking the matter into our hands as authorities have been lax on the highly sensitive environmental matter" said "Ngauna" the lead organizer.
