Politicians Raise Over 8 M To Steer AFC Leopards From Impending Fifa ban

AFC Leopards have every reason to smile all the way to the bank after raising over Ksh. 8 Million that will cushion them from the overwhelming pending debts.
A looming Fifa ban was hanging on their neck after several players and previous coaches including Bandari Coach Casa Mbongo ostensibly sued the club to the world soccer governing body (FIFA), demanding their accrued salaries, media reports said.
But a well attended fundraiser presided by club patron Hon.Musalia Mudavadi who was assisted by new Defence Cabinet Secretary Eugine Wamalwa, Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya and Westlands legislator Tim Wanyonyi, Alexander Muteshi Imbenzi has steered them off the red zone.
Alexander Muteshi Imbenzi is the Director General, Directorate of Immigrations.
"I urge club members to go deeper into their pockets and bail the club" he said.
President Uhuru Kenyatta send a donation of Ksh.2 million through Hon.Wamalwa who urged the Luhya community to remain firm with the Government for future great developments.
The fundraiser held at the United Kenya Club saw Westlands legislator Tim Wanyonyi who graced the occasion vowing to donate to the club every month Ksh 100,000 for a period of one year.
Other donations came from Hon.Raila Odinga and Musalia Mudavadi who both donated each Ksh.1 million.
Hon Wamalwa who acted as the Master of Ceremony gave Ksh.1.1 million with his friends, Governor Oparanya gave 500,000,Mukhisa Kituyi send Ksh.20,000, and Makadara legislator George Aladwa 100,000.
Other donations came from businessman Stanley Livondo who handed 200$ and a cash donation of Ksh120,000,Tim Wanyonyi 100,000, Sports C.S Hon Amina Mohamed 200,000, Club fan and supporter Malkit Singh Main 100,000, Hon Emmanuel Wangwe 50,000, and Club Chairman of Chairman Franklin Kuka Imbenzi 54,000.
Legendary soccer star J.J Masiga send 7,000.
Others in attendance were C.A.S Agriculture Lawrence Omuhaka, C.A.S Treasury Eric Simiyu,Tusker coach Robert Matano and Radio citizen sports anchor Vincent Ateya who brought ksh 50,000 from his Boss Fred Afune and his personal donation of 10,000.
C. S Wamalwa caused prolonged laughter when he said as the new Defence cabinet secretary, he will defend the club from any attack.
He lauded President Uhuru Kenyatta for supporting the club during the clubs visit to State House early this year where he presided the launch of the new Bus.
