The People’s Liberation Party (PLP) today held its National Delegates Conference (NDC) at Ufungamano House, Nairobi, with opposition leaders rallying together in a show of unity and renewed resolve ahead of the 2027 elections.

Speaking at the event, Wiper Democratic Movement leader H.E. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka congratulated Hon. Martha Karua for successfully hosting the NDC and lauded her bold declaration to run for the presidency in 2027.

Kalonzo emphasized the unity of the opposition, declaring, “We are the government in waiting.” He took sharp aim at President William Ruto’s administration, accusing it of turning Kenya into a hub for money laundering—a crisis that has seen the country grey-listed internationally.

The Wiper leader further criticized what he termed as “reputation laundering” by the Ruto government at global forums such as the United Nations. He alleged that while Ruto presents himself as a peacemaker on issues like Sudan, his government has in fact backed the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), with Kenyan arms reportedly traced to the Sudanese conflict.

Kalonzo reaffirmed the opposition’s commitment to rescuing Kenya from corruption, restoring integrity in governance, and rebuilding the nation’s battered international image. He accused the Kenya Kwanza administration of stalling crucial development projects despite the availability of willing funders, terming the move a betrayal of the Kenyan people.

The NDC was also addressed by PLP leader Eugene Wamalwa and Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua, who echoed calls for stronger opposition unity, accountability, and a clear path toward national renewal.

The Ufungamano gathering signaled a new chapter for the opposition as it sharpened its messaging against the Ruto government and rallied supporters around the vision of change for 2027.
